I believe

God doesn’t make it easy.

I’d like to think that if I’m a good person, and I obey all the commandments, then I’m good to go. Got my golden ticket into heaven and all that.

But the fact is that we don’t know the future, and we don’t even know the present.

It really comes down to having faith to move forward.

This site, in fact, is an exercise in faith for me. I rarely know whose life I might be touching with this, and in fact maybe it’s not about that at all. But God’s been speaking to me about doing this, I believe, so I’m moving forward in faith.

In our creed, we say that we believe in a lot of things. In God, in Jesus Christ, in the Holy Spirit, in the Church.

It’s actually pretty easy to believe in things. Even in the Spirit, which can be tough for me to get my arms around.

But it’s much hard to … just believe. To believe that God really does have infinite love for me and everyone else. That my part in this world matters.

And yet, that’s what we’re called to. To move forward in faith, despite the uncertainty, the pain, the doubts.

Just have faith. And act.
