God is love.
And, as we read today, the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love others.
Sure, we would all like to be in a world where everyone’s all loving each other: supportive, generous, sharing. So if that’s what we all want, why is it that we haven’t created a world like that?
Because it’s all about our journey away from God, and our loving return to Him. How do we know that? Because God gave us His Son.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. — John 3:16
Jesus is the one who shows us the path.
I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. — John 14:6
For whatever reason, God has allowed us to sin and fall away from Him. Clearly it’s an important journey, because each of us has our own version of it.
But God has also given us the path to follow, because He love us. He wants us to join Him in eternal life.
God, help me to follow Your path!
