We’re nudging up towards the end of the Church year – just a few weeks away!
Our readings today talk about the end times:
Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake; some shall live forever, others shall be an everlasting horror and disgrace.
“But the wise shall shine brightly like the splendor of the firmament, and those who lead the many to justice shall be like the stars forever.”
— Daniel 12:2-3
We live in fear of not only our own death and the deaths of those we love, but also of the larger death of the world.
But Jesus has assured us that death is just a portal, a passing into eternal life. Each of us are eternal beings, and it’s just about whether we’re going to spend that in God’s presence.
Or not.
I want to be able to give glory to my Maker face to face, and live forever in His presence in peace and harmony. My little prayer of glory today seems so pitiful and insignificant, but … It’s all I have to offer.
And the ways I help bring His goodness to this world. Faith and works.
