The gift of Nativity

Today we are truly blessed. Our God has come to live with us, showing us how to live with each other and our maker.

I wake today with joy and gratitude. For family, for friends, for the many gifts we’ve been given.

Of course, they don’t always look like gifts.

That came to mind recently when I was blessed with an awareness of how my own actions are sometimes working to sabotage or support what I intend.

God lets me experience what I need to learn and grow, even if it’s painful. It’s how I learn.

We’d like to put a nice pretty face on the birth of Jesus, but the fact is that it was probably a painful experience. But we now know that the pain will bring great joy, and in that we rejoice.

God bless us, every one.
