Don’t forsake me!

My God, my God, what have You forsaken me?

Psalm 22:1

Today, time stops. And once a year we contemplate the concept of being without our Lord.

It’s an in-between time.

I can’t imagine what was going on with the Apostles after the crucifixion. They’ve been abandoned, forsaken. Everything has come crashing down in less than 24 hours.

Jesus told them this would happen, of course. But I’m sure it was so unthinkable, so foreign, that they couldn’t grasp it.

In a similar way, I have my own difficulties in believing what Jesus has revealed. It’s so unthinkable, so foreign.

But it’s true.
