Poor banished children

Jesus warned us that the door to heaven is very narrow.

“Strive to enter through the narrow gate,
for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter
but will not be strong enough.
After the master of the house has arisen and locked the door,
then will you stand outside knocking and saying,
‘Lord, open the door for us.’
He will say to you in reply,
‘I do not know where you are from.

Luke 13:22-25

I could despair of ever being able to get there!

But we’re also shown the path. Mary and her Son lead the way.

Giving. Generosity. Love.

And this shouldn’t be a surprise to any of us, because this is what we’re designed to do. We’re social beings, mean to work with and support each other.

When I remember that God designed me for goodness, that helps. I just have to keep nurturing that, bringing it out in help for everyone around me.

I’m not a lost cause. Not banished yet.
