The hour of our death

I’ve been pondering my own mortality.

Being recently inspired by hearing the story of a colleague who beat a vicious disease and lived a decade beyond what the doctors had predicted, I realize that there’s always hope.

Conversely, we’re also one breath away from the end.

It comforts me to know that Mary is praying for me now, and at the hour of my death. It gives me the perspective to carry on in dedication and persistence, no matter how much more I may be given.

It’s all a God-given gift anyway, right? Something that I certainly don’t deserve, but which is given out of love.

I find that comforting. I hope to share that gift of life generously with others I touch.
