Continuing with the Glorious Mysteries, today we celebrate Mary as Queen of Heaven.
It’s kind of a weird phrase if you think about it. God is King, so … Mary is equivalent to God?
Not at all.
No, this is about Mary’s incredible role for humanity. For the universe. She is Queen of angels, apostles and saints.
Again, we go back to John’s writings in the book of Revelation. Mary disappeared for much of the New Testament, but we finally get to hear the end of the story.
God will join with us in glory for all eternity. And Mary, being fully human, is our ultimate example.
